⚡ The Neural Frontier’s weekly picks: 3 AI tools you should be using.
Interviewer and job seeker going through an interview
With the increasing fear of job loss due to the wide-scale integration of AI, it appears that AI might influence the job market in more ways than one. Now, it’s not news that many job seekers utilize AI-powered tools like ChatGPT to generate resumes and cover letters 😏. However, it will appear that employers have also taken a cue from this 😉, increasing AI's involvement in the job screening process.
To back this up, a recent survey by Resume Builder showed that over 40% of companies will integrate AI interviews as part of their job screening process by 2024. What’s more, about 65% of companies believe that the integration of AI into the hiring process will bolster hiring efficiency. Our take? Well, we believe that AI will definitely reduce inefficiencies and eliminate any form of bias from the hiring process.
But, we must also consider that this integration may have more nuanced drawbacks. And while none come to mind—other than the possible dehumanization of the hiring process—it’s safe to say that interesting times lie ahead 🧙.
What do you think, though? |
Person holding up an NVIDIA graphics card
The world can’t seem to get enough of NVIDIA’s chips—especially with this recent generative AI surge. And although the US government laid out GPU sale restrictions that impacted China, it appears that Chinese giants, ByteDance were one step ahead.
How so? Well, Chinese media recently reported that TikTok creators, ByteDance have already ordered about $1 billion worth of NVIDIA’s chips. In addition, these orders were placed before the US ban took effect, allowing NVIDIA to curb potential financial losses.
Considering an average cost of $10,000 for NVIDIA’s high-performance chips, this order amounts to about 100,000 hardware units. This news means that ByteDance alone has surpassed NVIDIA’s sales in the entirety of China’s market for a year. Pretty remarkable, isn’t it?

It’s no secret that more and more companies—particularly tech giants—have embraced the large-scale integration of AI into workflows and product offerings. And while Dropbox might be a bit late to the party, it’s never too late to hop on the AI train.
The file-hosting giant recently announced AI-powered additions to its product offerings. This includes:
Dropbox Dash: A unified search bar that allows you to scan across software tools and apps from even third-party applications like Google Workspace and Salesforce.
Dropbox AI: Dropbox’s new AI innovation that gives users quick summaries of files stored on the platform.
What’s more, Dropbox also just launched an AI-focused venture fund—called Dropbox Ventures—with a backing of $50 million. If that doesn’t showcase the company’s confidence in AI technology, what else does?
Person holding up a Grammy award
Last week, the Recording Academy finally decided to weigh in on the heavy influx of AI-generated music. This influx has ruffled many feathers, leaving many musicians worried about the industry's future. And while AI has been heavily integrated across many spheres of our lives—proving its use—it won’t be winning a Grammy anytime soon.
Outlining new rules ahead of the next award show, the Recording Academy stated that only “human creators” will be eligible for an award. However, songs that include AI-generated elements can still be nominated—granted that there’s evidence of significant human contribution to the record.
To wrap things up, Harvey Mason Jr., the CEO of the Recording Academy, stated, “If there's an AI voice singing the song or AI instrumentation, we'll consider it…But in a songwriting-based category, it has to have been written mostly by a human."
