Former Twitter logo

Considering Elon’s obsession with the letter “X” (think SpaceX, X Corp, X AI, X.com), it’s surprising and, weirdly enough, unsurprising that he’s decided to rebrand Twitter to X. However, this change isn’t just a logo replacement based on the whims of another tech giant.

In view of this, Twitter’s CEO, Linda Yaccarino tweeted that “It’s an exceptionally rare thing—in life or in business—that you get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.”

In essence, this new direction aims to usher in “the future state of unlimited interactivity— centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking—creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities.”

To sum it up, she added that “Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we’re just beginning to imagine.”

While a lot of people are not pleased by these changes, the prospect of a truly global marketplace might be worth ruffling a couple of feathers 🪶. And with what we know about Elon, he’s probably going to be unapologetic about realizing his lofty goals.

In a shocking turn of events, it appears that the rise of AI-powered tools might have caused the downfall of Stack Overflow.

If you’re a programmer 👨‍💻, chances are that you’ve spent hours on Stack Overflow trying to debug your code. Even more important, it’s become an invaluable resource for experts and budding developers alike.

However, with the rise of AI-powered programming tools like Github Copilot and ChatGPT, we can only wonder whether this caused the dip in Stack Overflow’s web traffic. Granted, there’s no concrete evidence to verify this, but it’s certainly worth considering—at least from a logical perspective.

What’s more?

Considering the 50% decrease in questions and answers on the platform in the last 18 months, the situation is definitely worth monitoring 👀.

Man using computer

Yes, you read that right! Up until now, Microsoft’s chatbot was only available on Edge. However, it appears that Microsoft is taking a page out of Google’s book (yes, we’re talking about Bard 😉) and allowing users to access Bing Chat on other browsers—just Chrome and Safari for now.

The catch?

You’ll receive those annoying pop-ups prompting you to download Edge. But aside from a significantly lower prompt character limit (2000 characters instead of 4000), your experience using Bing Chat on other browsers should remain largely the same.
